Pensando en sistemas marinos

Abstract

Los recursos pesqueros de los que dependemos son parte del complejo sistema que componen los océanos y todo lo que interactúa con ellos. Para estudiarlos, y así conservarlos y gestionarlos adecuadamente, hace falta hacerlo con una mirada sistémica, es decir, que tenga en cuenta todas esas interacciones y lo que resulta de todas ellas, para saber hacia dónde va ese sistema. ‘Pensar en sistemas’ es algo que hacía muy bien la biofísica Donella Meadows, autora de un libro póstumo con ese mismo nombre (que desde aquí recomendamos mucho), además del conocidísimo informe del MIT ‘Los límites del crecimiento’ (1972), y que también hace muy bien la protagonista de este episodio: Marta Coll, investigadora en el ICM-CSIC, que lidera el grupo de investigación iMARES donde hacen uso de modelos informáticos para tratar de abarcar las dimensiones ambiental, social y económica en las que se enmarca la gestión de los recursos pesqueros
