Abstract

El mito de la biblioteca universal, de un templo del saber en el que se encuentren reunidos todos los conocimientos científicos y la creación literaria de la humanidad vuelve a cobrar actualidad gracias al ímpetu y potencialidades de las nuevas tecnologías. Proyectos de digitalización de los fondos de las principales bibliotecas del mundo (Biblioteca del Congreso, del Museo Británico, Nacional de París, Vaticana de Roma)1, creando una nueva librería digital de libre acceso, están aleteando en el ambiente y es posible que en un futuro no muy lejano sean una realidad.
