Abstract

La cuestión de la diversidad lingüística en Marruecos lleva suscitando gran interés entre políticos, intelectuales, investigadores y población en general desde, al menos, los años cincuenta del siglo pasado. Cuando hablamos de diversidad nos referimos a las distintas lenguas a las que se enfrentan, de manera cotidiana, los hablantes nativos de Marruecos: la lengua amazigh –lengua vernácula reconocida como cooficial por la Constitución de 2011–, las distintas variedades de árabe hablado –variedades igualmente vernáculas a las que se llama habitualmente dariya–, el árabe clásico –que, junto con el amazigh, es lengua oficial del país y se utiliza, principalmente, escrita o en discursos oficiales y situaciones formales– y las distintas lenguas europeas –español, francés e inglés– cuya presencia se debe a razones coloniales, comerciales, estratégicas, etc.
