Abstract

La paleogenómica confirma la capacidad de transferencia genética entre diferentes especies. La paleogenómica, con la tecnología aplicada al estudio de los fósiles prehistóricos, está revolucionando el conocimiento sobre las poblaciones antiguas, ya que permite reconstruir el árbol evolutivo mediante la extracción y el análisis de moléculas de ADN. el investigador del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN-CSIC) Antonio Rosas hablará de la conexión que existe entre las ciencias clásicas de la prehistoria, como la paleontología, y estas nuevas herramientas. Su charla lleva por título El diálogo entre los fósiles humanos y la era genómica: una revolución científica, es de entrada gratuita y, a pesar de lo que pueda parecer por su título, es accesible a todo tipo de públicos. “Los humanos actuales, los homo sapiens, tenemos en nuestros cromosomas genes neandertales y, algunas poblaciones, genes de otro grupo humano que se denominan denisovanos y que ha sido descubierto a través de la paleogenómica", ha explicado Rosas para quien, gracias a la paleogenómica, se ha puesto de manifiesto la capacidad de transferencia genética entre diferentes especies fósiles, algo que se sospechaba, pero que no se conocía hasta ahora. Según el investigador del MNCN-CSIC, estos hallazgos son muy reveladores ya que no sólo han desvelado la existencia de linajes evolutivos desconocidos, como los denisovanos, sino que confirman “los eventos de hibridación entre diferentes especies, ya sea neandertales - homo sapiens, ya sea neandertales - denisovanos, ya sea homo sapiens - denisovanos… en una red de cruzamientos cada vez más compleja".
