La Campaña Platuxa 2003, se llevó a cabo con el B/O Vizconde de Eza, cubriendo el Área de Regulación de la NAFO, en las divisiones 3NO. Se realizaron 122 pescas en un rango de profundidad de 57 a 1464 m. Se constató un aumento en las capturas de varias especies demersales: platija, (Hippoglossoides platessoides), fletán negro (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides), mendo (Glyptocephalus cynoglossus), gallineta (Sebastes spp) y granadero berglax. (Macrourus berglax). La especie que muestra una mejor situación, con síntomas de recuperación, es la limanda aunque sus capturas han disminuido por tercer año consecutivo. El resto de las especies comerciales, no muestran una tendencia positiva, siendo el bacalao la especie que está en peor situación. El camarón (Pandalus borealis) al igual que el año 2002 alcanzó capturas significativas. En la experiencia de pescas comparadas con el buque canadiense B/O Wilfred Templeman, la captura de éste por primera vez fue un poco mayor que la del buque español. Sin embargo, si consideramos el periodo 2001-2003 las capturas del buque español resultan superiores

However, considering the period 2001-2003 of the Spanish vessel catches are higher.
