Informe de resultados de la Campaña Platuxa 2007

Abstract

The “Platuxa 2007” bottom trawl survey is the thirteenth research survey in the series began in 1995, aimed to obtain abundance indices and know the structure of populations of commercial species in the of NAFO Regulatory Area, Divisions 3N and 3O. This survey is the seventh developed with R/V “Vizconde Eza”. There were made 110 hauls valid in a depth range of 46 to 1374 m. Survey results indicate an increase in the catches of several commercial species: redfish (Sebastes spp) and, to a lesser extent, Greenland halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides). Also increased other unexploited species by the Spanish fleet as sandeel (Ammodytes americanus) and capelin (Mallotus villosus). On the other hand, there was a marked decline of the species that came up last year: American plaice (Hippoglossoides platessoides), cod (Gadus morhua) and skate (Amblyraja radiate). The yellowtail founder (Limanda ferruginea) is maintained at a good level. In the whole series, is in sharp yellowtail founder and redfish recovery shows an upward trend. Slightly increases the Greenland halibut in the area. The rest of the species or remains at a low level or rises slightly, but still far from their historical values.
