La taxidermia científica, un patrimonio cultural por conocer

Abstract

Los animales naturalizados que llenan las salas de los museos de ciencias naturales representan un rico acervo cultural, escasamente conocido por el gran público, que trasciende el ámbito de la zoología. Fruto del gusto y de las inquietudes de distintas épocas, muchos se convierten en fuente indispensable del relato histórico. Algunos ejemplos, elegidos entre las colecciones del museo de Madrid y de otros museos extranjeros, servirán de pretexto a la hora de hilar el contenido de esta conferencia. Los dioramas y su discurso educativo de carácter conservacionista acapararán buena parte de la atención
