El Antropoceno como concepto geológico

Abstract

A partir de los años 1950 el impacto humano se ha convertido en un fenómeno global y acelerado en todo el mundo. La población humana se ha triplicado, y el consumo y la tecnología se han convertido en los factores determinantes de nuestra influencia sobre el medio ambiente. Estos procesos aparecen ya reflejados en el registro geológico en forma de sustancias contaminantes, empobrecimiento de los restos fósiles, velocidad de acumulación de sedimentos, nuevos materiales y tecnofósiles, etc. El Antropoceno es un concepto muy efectivo para expresar que la humanidad está cambiando el funcionamiento de la Tierra.
