Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un antibiótico beta-lactámico para su uso en un método para tratar una infección bacteriana en un sujeto que necesita el mismo en el que dicha infección bacteriana es causada por una especie bacteriana caracterizada por el uso de la vía sintética de mevalonato, en el que dicho sujeto se trata adicionalmente., antes o simultáneamente a dicho antibiótico de beta-lactámico, con una estatina, en la que dicha estatina es para usar en la reducción, mitigación o reversión de resistencia a dicho antibiótico de beta-lactama en poblaciones bacterianas resistentes de dichas especies bacterianas.
