Abstract

Ecologistas en Acción de Navarra hace entrega de su Premio de Medio Ambiente 2021 a Antonio Turiel. Antonio Turiel Martínez es científico y divulgador licenciado en Física y Matemáticas y doctor en Física Teórica por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Trabaja como Investigador Científico en el Institut de Ciències del Mar del CSIC, en Barcelona. Es conocido en su faceta de divulgador científico, labor que realiza en conferencias, artículos, libros y a través de su blog The Oil Crash, en el cual toca temas sobre el agotamiento de los recursos convencionales de combustibles fósiles, como el pico del petróleo. Ha advertido en reiteradas ocasiones de la imposibilidad de mantener el actual sistema económico, basado en el crecimiento en un planeta finito. Los recursos fósiles que sustentan nuestro modelo productivo, de consumo, y en general, nuestro modo de vida, se acaban, y con ellos otros muchos recursos y materiales que debieran servirnos en la necesaria transición energética. Por ese motivo, Turiel considera necesario un cambio del modo de vida que implique una sustancial disminución del consumo energético, con la implantación de políticas de decrecimiento. Los actos de entrega de este premio serán el viernes 6 de mayo. Los actos comenzarán con una charla impartida por Antonio Turiel, Premio de Medio Ambiente 2021, a las 19:00 horas en el Salón de Actos de la UNED de Tudela. Cuyo título será: “El futuro de la energía”. Posteriormente, hacia las 21:30 tendremos la habitual cena entre el premiado y nuestros socios, simpatizantes y amigos, donde le haremos entrega del galardón, una bella talla en madera de olivo de Castildetierra. A su vez elegiremos el Premio Chandrío, que se otorga a la persona o institución con la acción más desastrosa para el medio ambiente
