Abstract

La ciencia española no pierde oportunidad de aplicar innovación técnica en la observación del volcán Cumbre Vieja de La Palma. Un grupo de investigadores del Instituto de Ciencia del Mar (ICM-CSIC), de Barcelona, ha instalado en La Palma un dispositivo interrogador DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) sobre el cableado de fibra óptica que usa el Observatorio de Roque de los Muchachos. Se trata de una tecnología que ya ha tenido aplicaciones previas detectando terremotos con cables submarinos
