Una nova visió del món que s'està obrint pas guiada per la ciència: el planeta funciona com un ecosistema, el sistema Terra, i la vida evoluciona a salts gràcies a la simbiosi, la força de l'associació entre organismes. Els coneixements científics actuals porten a un canvi revolucionari en la forma de veure el món: la Terra funciona com un gran ecosistema, que és estable en funció del reciclatge que hi poden fer totes les espècies que hi viuen
