Técnicas electroquímicas aplicadas a la conservación del patrimonio metálico

Abstract

Las técnicas electroquímicas son conocidas en el campo de la conservación de metales principalmente como una herramienta de restauración, para eliminación de capas de productos de corrosión. Este uso, muy popular a mediados del siglo XX, fue prácticamente abandonado a partir de los años 80 por los cambios en los criterios de conservación. Sin embargo, en el s. XXI se ha producido un resurgimiento, tanto como herramienta de restauración (utilizando procedimientos avanzados respetuosos con la historia de objeto) como en su uso como técnica de análisis para intervenciones de conservación preventiva o conservación curativa. En esta conferencia se repasan, con ejemplos reales de la experiencia del grupo de investigación, las diversas aplicaciones innovadoras y los desarrollos científico-técnicos de las técnicas electroquímicas para la conservación del patrimonio metálico.
