Abstract

Qualsevol campanya polar té uns elements clau ineludibles: el buc, la base i la tecnologia incorporada en ambdós llocs. Aquesta infraestructura necessita no només d’un manteniment, sinó també d’una preparació, renovació i investigació constant per millorar-ne el funcionament. D’aquesta necessitat va néixer la Unitat de Tecnologia Marina (UTM), adscrita al Centre Mediterrani d’Investigacions Marines i Ambientals (CMIMA) i que forma part de l’Àrea de Recursos Naturals del Consell Superior d’Investigacions Científiques (CSIC).
