Sobre la historia sagrada del norte de África

Abstract

A pesar de que ocupan un lugar central en el tiempo medieval (siglos x al xii), y en el espacio, puesto que Egipto es fundamental en la civilización del Oriente Medio; y a pesar de su preeminencia como tercer califato del Islam, los Fatimíes carecían hasta ahora de una historia completa g satisfactoria de su dinastía. No por falta de producción historiográfica reciente, abundante y de calidad, pues ahí están las importantes obras deWaiker, Sanders, Haim, Kennedy. Dafiary. Dachraoui o Madelung , sino por estar esta producción en su mayoría centrada en tomo a dos cuestiones: el problema de los orígenes de los Fatimíes en el siglo anterior a la emergencia de la dinastía, por un lado, y por el otro, el estudio de la cosmología neoplatónica adoptada por la dinastía desde mediadas del siglo x en adelante.
