Sistemas planetarios en la Vía Láctea

Abstract

Los planetas, tanto en órbita alrededor de las estrellas como “aislados” (sin ninguna estrella sobre la que girar), son la norma y no la excepción. A esta afirmación se ha llegado en apenas dos décadas tras el descubrimiento de las primeras enanas marrones y planetas. A día de hoy, se conocen más de 3500 planetas en la Vía Láctea, y son muy numerosos los esfuerzos humanos y recursos económicos que se están invirtiendo para estudiar la población planetaria en los próximos años. Durante la charla se revisarán los hallazgos más emblemáticos que han provocado un gran avance en el conocimiento de este campo, y se resumirán los procesos por los que “nacen” los planetas y los sistemas planetarios.
