Abstract

L'abondance de Gadus poutassou sur la côte orientale de l'Espagne est bien connue. Pour la détermination de l'âge de cette espèce, comme pour tous les autres poissons, on utilise les anneaux de croissance que présente l'otolithe de ces animaux. Après la mensuration d'un nombre très élevé de telles pièces calcaires (r. 7oo) environ, on arrive à la conclusion de l'existence d'une grande variabilité dans l'amplitude et la situation des anneaux de croissance sur l'otolithe. Pour arriver à l'interprétation de cette variabilité, nous avons fait les recherches suivantes: 1) relation entre la croissance du poisson et de l'otolithe et développement de l'otolithe même; 2) variation de la taille du noyau et des anneaux de l'otolithe et 3) influence réciproque entre le noyau et les anneaux.
