Pinturas bactericidas y antiincrustantes. Preparación y ensayos de calidad de algunas formulaciones

Abstract

[EN] Vlnyl/TBT acrylate and TBT acrylate/(MMA/BMA) based paints containing biocides have been developed for the protection of underwater surfaces from fouling growth. Suitable biocides Cu2O, Irgarol 1051 (Ciba), Preventol A4S (Bayer) and Lolo tint Cu2O (American Chemet) have been used Paints have been tested In a raft placed In Palma de Mallorca. Copper leaching rate test in the laboratory have been performed, during one year, for some of the above mentioned formulations. Panels have been inmersed in the laboratory under controlled conditions. The combined Information of the biological and copper leaching rate tests has been suitable for testing the quality of the paints. The advantages and disadvantages of different paints formulations are discussed.
