Coordinación y presentación del Día de García y Bellido

Abstract

El Día de García y Bellido viene organizándose desde 1984, con el objetivo de reivindicar la memoria histórico-arqueológica de la Arqueología de nuestro país, así como de atisbar nuevas vías de análisis y el alcance de nuestra disciplina en el marco de la sociedad. Este año, el Instituto de Arqueología de Mérida, el Museo Nacional de Arte Romano y la UNED de Mérida organizan este evento, en el que se impartirán tres conferencias que conjugan estos tres objetivos: "Antonio García Bellido y la arqueología de Extremadura de época romana" por José Beltrán Fortes; "Reconstruyendo el pasado: textos y arqueología" por Javier Arce Martínez y "El lugar de la arqueología en el siglo XXI" por Arturo Ruiz Rodríguez. Por la tarde se organiza una visita voluntaria que lleva por título "Visita a los acueductos emeritenses: la mirada de Richard Ford (1831) y la visión actual".
