La verdad sobre la mente humana

Abstract

En esta charla exploraremos algunos de los aspectos de la mente humana que generalmente pasan desapercibidos y a los que no suele dárseles mucha importancia, pero que sin embargo son de notable relevancia a la hora de determinar nuestra forma de pensar, de tomar decisiones y nuestra visión del mundo. No es por “sapiens” por lo que destaca especialmente el Homo sapiens, sino por ser altamente social y emocional. Estas características sí podrían explicar muchas de nuestras peculiaridades más increíbles, como el arte y la religión, al margen, por supuesto, de la tecnología y los avances científicos. El cerebro humano está dotado de múltiples dispositivos que nos permiten adentrarnos en las mentes de los demás y compartir la nuestra con otros, algo que hacemos continuamente y de manera inconsciente, automática. Exploraremos algunos de estos mecanismos, descubriremos lo tremendamente vulnerables que somos a las mentes de los demás, y hablaremos de la poca o nula utilidad de la consciencia humana. En definitiva, hablaremos de cómo es de verdad la mente del Homo sapiens.
