Abstract

El "Diálogo del colorado" es un estudio médico aljamiado en caracteres hebreos, originariamente publicado, en 1601, en Salónica -durante siglos la más populosa comunidad de la diáspora sefardí. Según propone Pilar Romeu Ferré, artífice de la muy cuidada edición anotada objeto de esta reseña, su autor, Daniel de Ávila Gallego, quien se presenta a sí mismo como «judió, filóssofo y médico de la misma cibdad», habría nacido en el seno de una familia de «cristianos nuevos» hacia 1570, con mayor probabilidad en alguna de las regiones de «La Raya» [a Raia] entre los reinos de Castilla y Portugal, y cursado estudios de medicina en la Universidad de Salamanca en torno a 1590.
