Incorporación de contaminantes radiactivos al hielo marino

Abstract

Es sabido que las plantas europeas de reprocesamiento de combustible nuclear de Sellafield (Reino Unido) y La Hague (Francia) aportan al medio ambiente radionúclidos tales como el plutonio, el 236U o el 129I, entre otros. A pesar de suponer una fuente de contaminación radiactiva medioambiental, también se puede obtener de ellos un beneficio, usándolos como trazadores de procesos oceánicos.
