Abstract

[EN] The object of this research is to propose an anthropological approach to the study of the Andalusi family, especially between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. I will try to connect knowledge about these human groups with the physical context of the domestic architecture that they occupied. My point of departure is the hypothesis, already formulated, that late Andalusi housing was inhabited by nuclear families. These families would have been related to those that occupied adjacent houses. This, consequently, produced urban space for the extended family. In other words, nuclear groups that composed the extended family were located in adjoining structures that formed blocks and quarters. I intend to apply anthropological knowledge about the Andalusi family to its physical form in domestic space and, simultaneously, in the structure of the city.
