<< Objectives >>The objective of this project is to gather a total of 20 young people from Northern Finland and Northern Norway during the Arctic Frontiers conference in 2023 and 2024. There, they will participate in workshops, mentoring, social activities, and a group project in addition to attending the conference. Our motivation to do this is strengthen the involvement of young people in questions of developing a sustainable future in the Arctic to contribute to stop outmigration from the region.<< Implementation >>This project will implement five main activities both in 2023 and 2024: informal learning workshops, group project, attending the Arctic Frontiers conference, social and cultural program, and mentoring. Most of the activities will happen over the course of 7 days, before, during and after the annual Arctic Frontiers conference. After this week, the project will continue online through a mentorship and network platform and the dissemination of newsletters.<< Results >>With the implementation of this project, we expect to build a diverse cross-sectorial and international community of young people engaged in Arctic issues. The connections with professional mentors will result in increased employability and motivation to stay in the region. Arctic stakeholders will see their chances of employing capable and knowledgeable youth increased. Local communities will benefit from this project by giving young people tools to deal with the challenges facing the Arctic.
