Our project was created as a response to worries that we share about the weaknesses of traditional system of education. Our intention is to combine the elements that children love, like playing group games, computer games, hearing and making comics and stories and use them as learning tools through very creative cross-curricular ,non formal and innovative teaching methods and strategies as this is an effective way to strengthen and enrich children's abilities. Moreover, our interest about different European cultures moves to a deeper level of understanding that respects the diversity of cultures and use each one's cultural heritage as a great opportunity for children to learn easily, creatively and effectively. At the same time,we intend to raise awareness of children's own cultural identity in order to become more familiar with their language, history, geography, music and art.Our activities are carefully designed to fulfill this demand. We want children to develop an European spirit while learning, to be more tolerant and respectful towards others. Children will feel very activated. They will be creators, problem solvers, self motivators and will develop positive attitude in all situations. These activities will also help them to increase their self confidence and motivation for learning that is the first step in fighting school drop. At the same time ,they will become more sensitive to those who are different from them or come from different surroundings , especially with those who come from countries backdrop of war and deprivation of human rights. They will learn to cooperate and make new friendships, overcome language barriers, adopt themselves for team work, communicate and exchange ideas by using new technologies, improve their speaking and listening skills through CLIL method. Finally they will manage to evaluate the outcomes of their cooperation. The project will also help teachers to exchange good pedagogical practices and information with the other participants, develop their own teaching expertise and become more open- minded. They will develop cross- curricular work in classroom that provides a real life context and motivate children to learn. The project is a great chance for them to learn about other educational systems around Europe, see good and weak elements in them and have the opportunity to make suggestions for improvement and structural changes. Our project will finally create closer relationships among schools, parents and community members, make a move for opening school to the society by organising community events like dissemination meetings where all the people involved will interact, exchange ideas and make suggestions about the results of the project.

<< Background >>We have chosen to apply for this project in order to ensure a digital transformation and at the same time develop great insight into the fight against climate change. We have been focusing on needs for the development this project can help us to solve through exchanging and developing new practices and methods as well as sharing and confronting ideas. We want to expand our professional capacity by operating jointly on a transnational level and through our planned activities also boost the EU spirit.According to digital transformation, our project will address our needs in these main areas:- We want to further develop and vary digital literacy - We will reap the reward and be able to gain experience in how to critically evaluate the credibility and reliability of sources of data and understand algorithms - We will gain extensive knowledge of protection of devices, content, personal data and privacy in digital environments - We will develop and continuously improve all the opportunities in the new subject technology understanding - We will develop the use, knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence - We will gain an understanding and insight in everyday digital life in the world and in democratic society - We will gain experience and variety in how to meet the demands of girls and boys respectively, and pupils with learning difficulties/special needs - We will gain insight into and benefit from programming and innovating in different contexts and with different software/hardware online and across borders- We will get used to and experienced in identifying needs and problems by using the theory about computational thinking in several contexts - We will seek inspiration and gain experience in different ways of validation of both pupils and teachers skills and qualifications- We will further develop and exchange cross-border experiences based on our national curriculum, opportunities from the new SELFIE online tool, development of eTwinning cooperation and the School Education Gateway - We will receive continuous input and new ways as to how to improve and develop our digital transformation plans and ways to keep up-to-date with the digital evolution- Through thorough testing and different national approaches we will learn various ways to protect both physical and psychological health, and thus promote digital technologies for social well-being and social inclusion.According to the fight against climate change, our project will address the needs in the following main areas:- To plan and continuously refine teaching that aims to the highest possible degree of sustainability - To inspire all our students and parents in a very concrete and easily accessible way to act sustainably and thus avoid the anxiety and insecurity that characterize many pupils when it comes to to climate change - How is it possible based on a high sustainability to use digital tools to innovate processes and products - To find ways to reduce energy consumption and general waste in the case of the individual family and the school- To choose sustainable food according to local availability (how to make local, delicious food and inspire each other by exchanging recipes) and thus avoid food waste - To gain and improve recycling facilities and sustainability at schools and in local communities through innovative initiatives - To learn how to travel in an new climate neutral era through sustainable mobility choices - both in a recreational way and professionally in relation to Erasmus+ corporations - To be aware of and in various ways avoid the environmental impact of digital technologies - To innovate and calculate how to compensate for CO2 footprints both locally and at EU level until climate-neutral ways are available<< Objectives >>By implementing the project we want to achieve development and simultaneously investigate our own practice and with a view to the future increase our professionalism. The planned project areas and objectives will meet our needs in this evolving Erasmus+ project from different academic and didactic perspectives. Similarly, the different ways in which objectives will be addressed in the different countries based on the different national curricula, will overall result in much better benefit/synergy than if the individual countries would work independently. Our main focus is that our professional learning opportunities according to digital transformation and the fight against climate changes need to move from acquiring skills to mastering certain tools or technological competencies. Our focus of being able to try various approaches described in the different national curricula and with different professional knowledge regarding the use of the many different digital options and environmental awareness opens up for experiments with a great number of options, of which the best can be used as lifelong learning and great inspiration for teachers all over Europe. Combined with our exemplary teaching courses, this will be used by teachers across the EU to plan didactically, and in this way arrange teaching that fits the individual and the national level. Our achievement will also be used to ensure progress, continuous development and even out the academic differences that exist among our schools at present, and in this way, it increases European value. We will also achieve knowledge and development of the important work with pupils with special needs and the differences that may exist between the sexes. We do all, to some degree, work with physical disabled pupils, pupils of different ethnic origins and of culturally or socially disadvantaged families. This work is approached differently in each country, and this difference will give us insights and mutual inspiration. Hence we will be able to reduce the differences in learning outcomes that occur due to gender differences and among less advantaged pupils with limited opportunities. Another implementation we strive to achieve is the application of tools and ways to make our pupils and their parents familiar with safe use of ICT and particularly Internet activities. This challenge is already being tackled in different ways in our respective countries, which can be of great mutual inspiration. An important focus and achievement for us is how to use ICT for digital innovative proposals and calculations in relation to the climate challenges. We will try out and test different models during our project to motivate the individual to save resources, reduce both energy use and waste, and compensate for carbon footprint. In this way, our projects will also succeed in achieving better sustainability. It is also an objective and interest to involve both the UN's Global Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in order to teach the individual child that they can each help to make a difference. In this way, we can further develop a more secure and sustainable EU, where everyone, regardless of learning problems, race or identity, can take part in the democratic process. It is a very important achievement for us that the project/initiatives will find ownership by the headmasters at our schools. In this context as well, there will be great diversity, which will serve as mutual inspiration. We know from experience that it is of great importance that the schools’ managements participate in the implementation of our experiences.<< Implementation >>Our horizontal priorities are digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity and environment and fight against climate change, respectively. The priority environment and fight against climate change will become part of the priority digital transformation so we will continuously work with both priorities. To develop the priority digital transformation, we will implement the following activities to meet our needs:Several practice examples of how the new subject technology understanding can be put into practice. It is not enough for us to be able to use digital devices and services. We want to lay a foundation which causes our pupils to commit to, look behind and be critical about their digital opportunitiesDevelopment of digital literacyTeaching courses based on progress in analyzing, comparing and critical evaluation of the credibility and reliability of sources of data, information and digital contentCross-border teaching and learning about security, protection of devices, content, personal data and privacy in digital environments. Protection of the individual’s physical and psychological health, and the awareness of digital technologies for social well-being and social inclusion. Cross-border cooperation on eTwinning concerning knowledge and understanding of AITesting of courses that only cater to girlsTesting of courses that only cater to boysContinuous courses on programming and innovation (Micro: Bits, Lego, robots, etc.) and cross-border collaboration to develop digital readinessContinuous inclusion of the theory of computational thinking. This will include activities that identify needs and problems, resolve conceptual problems and problem situations in digital environments. The theory will also be used as a tool to innovate processes and products and too keep up-to-date with the digital evolutionContinuous experimenting on how we make online learning more relevant, interactive and easy to use to build our professional capacity3D printing and development across borders described and developed through eTwinningSeveral cross-border cooperations about how to use digital tools and technologies for collaborative processes and for co-construction and co-creation of resources and knowledge to secure development of digital readiness and resiliencePupils' digital products used to teach pupils in other countries and younger pupils at one's own school. Response to the pupils´ products from other students in the project.Activities, courses and tests that develop a validation of skills and qualificationsDevelopment and work with the online tool SELFIE as an ongoing training planContinuously testing and development of eTwinning, the School Education Gateway and The Erasmus + project Results PlatformTo develop the priority environment and fight against climate change, we will implement the following activities to meet our needs:How do we reduce the energy consumption of both the school and the family?Waste separation as a natural part of everyday life both at school and at home.Further development of innovative initiatives that can make minimal wasteContinuous projects and tests that show how we save resources in daily lifeHow do we avoid waste and food waste? How do we choose sustainable food - how to make local, delicious food and cross border exchange of recipes Based on their own calculations and innovative initiatives, how can the pupils advise us in matters of sustainable mobility choices?Innovative initiatives and calculations on how to compensate for CO2 footprintsActivities concerning UN global goals focused on better conditions for children's equal opportunities for development without further strain on the environment and thus increased climate changesInitiatives that have a special focus and awareness of the environmental impact of digital technologies and their useActivities to plan summer vacation to emit as little CO2 as possible<< Results >>In relation to our horizontal priority about digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity, we at least expect our project results and outcome to be:Digital products that show examples of how to analyse, compare and critically evaluate the credibility and reliability of a certain source of data, information and digital content.Videos, fliers and homepages made by our pupils describing how to protect devices, content, personal data, privacy in digital environments.Tools and ideas for working with and understanding VR Tools and ideas for working with and understanding AIPosters, videos, presentations and podcasts that illuminate how to protect both physical and psychological health, simultaneously being aware of digital technologies for social well-being and social inclusion and resilience to potential risks. Screening of our schools' digital capabilities - a thorough and nuanced overview of and insight through the work with the new SELFIE toolSchools revised/rewritten/updated ICT plansTo clarify technology understanding and its various forms of understanding, we expect outcomes that as a minimum make a detailed description of experience of how to 3D print and draw unplugged and digital programming, Micro:bits programming, Lego and robotic innovation, coding of games - all illuminated with computational thinkingTo clarify digital skills to reduce the differences in learning outcomes, we expect outcomes that as a minimum describe digital coding in detail as an opportunity for girls and development of didactic ICT models for pupils with various forms of special needs.Different sorts of tutorials and small mobile apps with digital focus on nutrition, physical and mental development and the use of ICT in physical education to inspire and motivate physical activityDigital food recipes with video sequences and nutrition programs as an eTwinning projectOur work with UN's Global Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child will result in outcomes that describe digital exchanges between our pupils via eTwinning regarding the object that states that parties should assure the child who is capable of forming his or her own views and the views of the child being given weight.Digital exchange between our pupils via eTwinning regarding the objective of what needs to be done to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all children.Digital literacy will generally be applied in all outcomes and ways to tailor technology to specific subjects, objectives and activities. In relation to our horizontal priority about environment and fight against climate change, we at least expect our project results and outcome to be:Calculations regarding the climate challenges and possible change initiatives at the individual and near levelsDigital innovative proposals to save resources and energy/calculations in maths/science to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the pupils’ own culture and understand and relate this to other culturesProgramming of app with specific sustainability bidsInnovative and creative outcome which describes possible initiatives for greater recycling and sorting of all waste both in the individual pupil’s home and throughout the schoolExchange of experience across borders in eTwinning projects around sustainable, innovative, healthy cooking with local foods in seasonPupils prepare suggestions as to how to travel in the future and how teachers should travel to TPM in order to save emission of CO2 Throughout the project, we will provide outcome that proves how to involve the participating schools’ headmasters for the initiatives to find ownership at our schools. We anticipate very clearly that our project will have a major impact on both our own teaching and all the teachers in the EU that we will inspire as developments in digital transformation and the fight against climate change are more important than ever.

"Social inclusion has been a long-term key priority for the European Union to cater for diversity in Europe. As early as 2010, the European Commission launched the Europe 2020 Strategy to promote social cohesion and education played a paramount role since it was identified as an invaluable tool for social mobility within an equitable society. This project ""Writing for Inclusion"" (WIN) focuses on rising awareness, changing perceptions and providing resources to implement inclusion through the concept of ""Care in Education"". WIN was submitted last year and, after including the reviewers’ suggestions, we have shifted action to make it more school oriented. As for the project background, a needs analysis was carried out to examine the beliefs and perceptions of university teachers, pre-service and in-service teachers regarding inclusiveness and ""Care in Education"" (see Annex). The findings from the online survey suggested that diversity was seen as an asset, even if many educators expressed their willingness to be trained to use new technologies and new resources to implement the principles of ""Care in Education"".In order to mainstream inclusive practices, a four-country consortium has been created. It is composed of four universities: University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) from Spain, Università di Firenze from Italy (UNIFI), Eötvös-Loránd University (ELTE) from Hungary, and Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogikal University (PNPU) from Ukraine; and four schools: Les Pinediques, from Spain, Istituto Comprensivo Le Cure, from Italy, Erzsébetvárosi Két Tanítási Nyelvű Általános Iskola és Szakgimnázium, from Hungary and Poltava Comprehensive school of I-III degree # 18, from Ukraine. The consortium has designed the WIN project to tackle the effective use of digital storytelling to foster Care in childhood education. The Project target groups are in-service teachers, young learners, and more marginally teacher trainees. The project will be implemented in four schools to more than one hundred pupils. Furthermore, multiplier events for teachers, student teachers and governments will be organized to spread the results across the educational community. In terms of subsidiary objectives, we should highlight the following:1. To elaborate materials and organize events that advocate for non-discriminatory attitudes2. To create animated resources for digital storytelling3. To train teachers to deal with ""Care in Education"" through technology4. To create a bond between European pupils using storytelling as an inclusive device5. To elaborate and implement a program that encourages and validates the concept of ""Care in Education"" at a European level6. To reinforce the bond between teacher training colleges and schoolsWith regards to the project results, WIN will create an open access learning platform to gather practices and transfer knowledge, skills and experiences among the project countries. In this sense, online materials will be created to provide theoretical knowledge and practical resources about ""Care in Education"" and to explore new creation processes in digital storytelling for diversity. Learning-focused animations will play a key part as instruments to connect what children do in the classroom to the rich media world that they live in. Additionally, a school toolkit will be developed to aid participants (teachers and students) through all the steps that are to be followed to develop a digital story. Finally, another outcome will be a Scientific Evaluation"" report to ascertain the quality of the intellectual outputs and to guarantee the publication of scientific articles in indexed journals. In relation to the positive impacts, participanting organisations, both schools and universities, will share knowledge and best practices; they will broaden their understanding of inclusive educational policies across Europe and they will acquire new international partners for future cooperation. In-service teachers will gain more insight into how inclusive practices can be implemented to mainstream students in their classes and they will have the opportunity to partake their best practices with other colleagues from participating partners. Children are undoubtedly at the core of our consortium because they will develop more inclusive attitudes towards diversity through creativity in digital storytelling and they will use technology as part of their emerging literacy process. As for the long-term benefits, we plan that the online resources and materials will be used openly by schools, administrators, researchers, teachers and students from participating and non-participating countries. We also intend to continue offering training to in-service teachers though life-learning programmes at some of the consortium’s universities since our ultimate goal is to help build a more inclusive education system in which students and teachers cherish the values of diversity."
