    The main objective of the INCLUSION project is to understand, assess and evaluate the accessibility and inclusiveness of transport solutions in European prioritised areas, identify gaps and unmet needs, propose and experiment with a range of innovative and transferable solutions, including ICT-enabled elements, ensuring accessible, inclusive and equitable conditions for all and especially vulnerable user categories. INCLUSION will address a large set of case studies (at least 50) involving different forms of geographical areas and transport contexts, demographic categories, population groups and mobility solutions, providing concrete experiences from various European sites and pilot initiatives involving a variety of regulatory and business frameworks, supporting technologies, organisational and operational conditions. Complementary to this, a number of innovative solutions will be concretely tried out and validated through real-life experiments (Innovation Pilot Labs) in a mix of urban, peri-/sub-urban and rural target areas in Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the UK, offering a variety of different transport environments, socio-economic contexts, cultural and geographical conditions. Expected results include: an understanding of the main challenges affecting transport provision and accessibility in the different type of prioritised areas; a structured view highlighting the dependencies among spatial and environmental characteristics, populations segments and their mobility needs; in-depth examination of 10 innovative PT approaches and a wider catalogue of at least 40 promising cases contributing to more accessible, inclusive and equitable transport solutions, complemented by innovative solution components validated in real-life experiments; a set of recommendations and an “option generator” for the development and deployment of mobility solutions addressing the needs of vulnerable user communities in European prioritised areas

    SUNRISE will develop, implement, assess and facilitate learning about new, collaborative ways to address common mobility challenges at the neighbourhood level. Towards this aim, 6 cities will foster collaborative processes in specific neighbourhoods as “Neighbourhood Mobility Labs” with the explicit mandate to implement innovative solutions for and with their residents, businesses etc. SUNRISE rests on several pillars: A) Utilisation of neighbourhood-specific opportunities. B) Co-creation of solutions, i.e. through strategic civic-public alliances C) Socio-technical nature of solutions as combinations of services, social arrangements, rules, technologies or small infrastructures etc. D) New forms of synergies between bottom-up and top-down. All SUNRISE activities are structured along the following phases of the innovation chain: 1) Co-identification of mobility problems; 2) Co-planning / co-selection of solutions; 3) Co-implementation of solutions; 4) Co-evaluation; 5) Co-learning and uptake. The SUNRISE action neighbourhoods will use a blend of proven state-of-the-art online and face-to-face participation techniques and will establish longer-term collaborative forums. These will systematically involve citizens, businesses, NGOs, local authorities, academics etc. – always with a view to also involve under-empowered sections of the population like migrants, women, older and young people. Alongside the mobility benefits for the action neighbourhoods, the project will result in a suite of products – most prominently the SUNRISE Neighbourhood Mobility Pathfinder – which will be provided to European cities, their stakeholders and citizens through a powerful exchange process to inspire and inform change across Europe. This will include a group of 20 Take-Up neighbourhoods and various city networks in cooperation with CIVITAS. In strategic terms, SUNRISE will lay the foundation for a Sustainable Neighbourhood Mobility Planning concept (SNMP) to complement SUMPs.

    The TRA2026 project aims to support the organisation of the TRA conference in Budapest in 2026 and deliver the related competitions. This proposal aligns with the specified criteria of the call, namely: • It addresses the expected outcomes, including enhanced visibility of the transport sector, contributions to advancing knowledge, improved cooperation opportunities, as well as increased attractiveness of transport-related studies, as well as recognition of outstanding achievements in this field. • It features a partnership representing the host country and city authorities, as well as the academic and professional realm, with a strong international reach. The proposal involves partners with experience across all transport modes and cross-modal themes, as well as in organising past TRA conferences and researcher competitions. A member state responsible for the Council of the European Union in 2026 is also represented in the consortium. • The partners will work together and with relevant stakeholders, drawing on the traditions of previous TRA editions to bring together key actors in the transport sector to find joint solutions for current and upcoming transport-related challenges.

    SPROUT provides a new city-led innovative and data driven policy response to address the impacts of the emerging mobility patterns, digitally-enabled operating & business models, and transport users’ needs. Previously tested and implemented policy responses employing access restrictions, congestion charging or infrastructure provision, seem today, unable to adequately address the changes underway in the urban mobility scene. Furthermore, any policy responses should take into all stages of the policy lifecycle and should have an eye not only to the present but also to the future. Therefore, starting from an understanding of the transition taking place in urban mobility, SPROUT will define the resultant impacts at the sustainability and policy level, will harness these through a city-led innovative policy response, will build cities’ data-driven capacity to identify, track and deploy innovative urban mobility solutions, and will navigate future policy by channelling project results at local, regional, national and EU level. To achieve its goals, SPROUT will employ 6 city pilots (including China) with real-life policy challenges faced as a result of urban mobility transition in both passenger & freight, covering urban and peri-urban areas, different emerging mobility solutions, and context requirements. The project pays special attention to the needs of vulnerable groups and users with different cultural backgrounds, taking also into account gender issues. SPROUT ensures an active participation of numerous representatives from authorities of small & medium-sized cities through a 3-layer structure of cities’ engagement approach, and through the creation of an Open Innovation Community on Urban Mobility Policy.

    UPPER aims at spearheading a Public Transport revolution that will strengthen the role of PT as the flagship of sustainability and innovation of mobility in cities, leading the transition towards a zero emission mobility which will become the cornerstone of climate neutrality by 2030, in line with the goal of Cities Mission and the priorities of the Green Deal. UPPER will put the Public Transport at the centre of the mobility ecosystem and will implement a combination of 84 push and pull measures, acting on the 5 innovation axes that condition user’s choices: mindset and culture, urban mobility planning, mobility services ecosystem, road network management and democratic governance. These measures will act in 4 different timescales (from shorter to longer-term): communication, operations, infrastructure and urban fabric. The UPPER measures will be supported by the UPPER Toolkit (U-TWIN, U-SIM, U-NEED, U-GOV, U-KNOW, U-TRANSFER and U-SUMP), 7 IT tools combining social and technological innovation that will be demonstrated within the measures in the 5+5 UPPER living labs and twinning sites, with the overall target of increasing the use of public transport by >30% and the user satisfaction by >25%, leaving nobody behind in the process. This integrated and holistic approach will ease the cooperation among authorities and operators, offer a physical and digital environment to test the measures, update the existing SUMPs, optimise the PT offer in line with user needs and patterns, involve the users in the overall mobility decision chain, trigger the behavioural change in favour of Public Transport and achieve an attractive, efficient, reliable, safe, inclusive and affordable Public Transport system in line with the concept of Mobility as a Right (MaaR)
