HEADCET aims to support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile in tackling the challenges of sustainable development by enhancing their relevance for the labor markets and the society at large. The project specifically focuses on Circular Economy (CE) and Social Innovation (SI) which are strongly interrelated in Latin American (LA) Countries and are considered crucial to foster a more sustainable growth and to identify new jobs opportunities. To do this, HEADCET will support LA HEIs through a wide set of interrelated actions:- Training Services for University Engagement - Updating curricula on CE, SI and sustainability to make universities’ offer more compatible with labor markets demands. - Development of pilot Offices for sustainable development & circular economy (Oficina Desarrollo sustentable y EC - ODEC). ODEC will be conceived as university centers specialized in offering services of support and counselling on projects of SI and CE. The project will set-up 3 pilot ODECs that will represent a concrete job opportunity for graduates and young researchers.- Implementation of COllaborative Local Labs (COLLs): to directly involve local stakeholders (SMEs, NGOs, public agencies) on initiatives and skills needed in the regional ecosystem of each Latin-American university on CE and SI. - Organization of Career Development Centres (CADEC) for meetings and job-matching between students/graduates and companies around CE competencies and jobs- Creation and promotion of a regional network on CE and SI, enriched with EU partners, in order to take advantages of the opportunities under the Programme “Regional Coalition on Circular economy in Latin America”.The project consortium is composed by 6 LA HEIs and 3 European HEIs and a University Center with established experiences on engagement, CE and SI. Globally, the role of pharmacists is changing to a more patient centred, and biotechnological oriented role not covered by most of the current study programmes. There is a need for specialisation and, especially in Latin America (LA) according to the reports of many professional and academic associations. COPHELA aims to develop and pilot implementation of a COPHELA M.Sc. in pharmacy that by increasing specialisation and research in hospital, community and industrial pharmacy foster the development of pharmacy in LA in conjunction with EU.COPHELA M.Sc. will develop innovative course units with two main characteristics: 1. a competence-based learning framework that fits in well with the highly heterogeneous regulations of the pharmacy profession in the Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, etc. and thus can be of general application and use in LA; 2. using distance learning technology to avoid the excessive cost of the traditional specialisation courses that limit access to many LA pharmacists. The materials generated will be freely available. COPHELA will also develop quality assurance tools to facilitate the recognition of the courses. This M.Sc. development will therefore also be the starting point for the development of post-registration continuous professional development and for the validation of learning in universities all around the world and in the work place. The short-term impact will be the production of pharmacy specialists adapted to the modern LA and EU situation. The long-term impact will be a global improvement of LA healthcare with more efficient pharmaceutical care and the evolution of the LA pharmaceutical industry. The impact for the EU will be improvement in collaboration with LA in the fields of pharmacy education, healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. The tools and teaching material developed will be used to promote continuing professional development for EU pharmacists.

<< Objectives >>We want to achieve new understandings of how schools (teachers/students), communities (homes/community centers) and universities (researchers/master students) can work together to build knowledge and engagement on contemporary issues of great importance for European societies. In this way young people will be able to take on new roles in our societies, as transformative agency towards merging social and environmental issues and their own future lives.<< Implementation >>The main activities will be to implement transformative projects in schools where teachers and students work on issues of social change. This will be done through ‘ChangeLab Workshops’ on local level and a ‘Virtual ChangeLab’ where the collaborating schools as well as community stakeholders and universities collaborate.<< Results >>One concrete result will be the development of a roadmap for social change and transformative agency, defined as a multimodal guideline. This will be built on projects and activities at schools in combination with results generated through the collaboration between partners on issues of transformative agency and ways of dealing with social change within schools. Another result of public interest will be emerging constellations of collaboration between educational partners and countries.
