The project has been organising in our region for 17 years. The European Researchers' Night (ERN) will be implemented in 2024 (27th September) and 2025 (26th September) for the 18th and 19th time. Researchers at Schools activities will be implemented for the 3th and 4th time. All the project activities will be organised under the slogan 'SUPER-HEROS-RESEARCHERS SAVE THE WORLD'. With this tagline and reference to the ideas and characters of super-heroes known to everyone, especially children and young people, we want to draw the public's attention more strongly to the role played by scientists in the development of the world, in the fight against environmental and climate threats, and how inventions affect our everyday lives. These are the key areas defined as EU Research and Innovation Missions and the objectives of the European Green Deal. The main goals of the project are: to bring science and the profession of researchers closer to the general public and make the public more aware of the impact of the work of researchers’ on our daily lives, to develop interest in research and scientific careers in the youth. Scale of the project is huge to show the wide scientific heritage and achieve project's goals: - ERN 2024-2025: each year ca. 2,000 activities organised (incl. interactive workshops, demos and experiments, face to face meetings with researchers, science shows etc.), ca. 2,200 researchers, emploees and students as well as 110 scientifis circles from 60 institutions involved, ca. 50,000 people will participate in each ERN, - Researchers at Schools activities in 2024-2025: 700 workshops, demos and meetings with researchers, 240 scientists/workers and students involved, 25,000 pupils and 800 teachers from 270 Polish schools will benefit. The project has European dimension: due to its broad awareness campaign, we estimate that 7 million people will be made aware of the project every year.
„European Researchers' Night (ERN) in Malopolska” has been organising in our region for 15 years and the Night will be implemented in 2022 (30th September) and 2023 (29th Septempber) for the 16th and 17th time. The scope of the project will be further expanded beginning in 2022 thanks to „Researchers at Schools activities – we will introduce a series of scientific events throughout the school year. All the project activities will be organized under the slogan „Researchers and the challenges of the modern world” to present how researchers are working to tackle the challenges faced by our planet and the society. These are the key areas defined as EU Research and Innovation Missions and the objectives of the European Green Deal. All the events will be held in the hybrid formula (online and stationary activities) to response the participants needs and current pandemic situation. Such formula enable to attract larger group of people. The main goal of the project are: to bring science and the profession of researchers closer to the general public and make the public more aware of the impact of the work of researchers’ on our daily lives, to develop interest in research and scientific careers in the youth. Scale of the project is huge to show the wide scientific heritage and achieve project's goals: - ERN 2022-2023: ca. 3 000 activities (incl. interactive workshops, demos and experiments, face to face meetings with researchers, science shows etc.), ca. 2 200 researchers, emploeey and students as well as 110 scientifis circles from 30 institutions involved, ca. 90 000 people will participate in ERNs, - Researchers at Schools activities in 2022-2023: 200 workshops, demos and meetings with researchers, 160 scientists/workers and 80 students involved, 20 000 pupils and 340 teachers from 280 Polish schools will benefit. The project has European dimension: due to its broad awareness campaign, we estimate that 5 million people will be made aware of the project every year.
European Researchers’ Night (ERN) in Malopolska will be organised for the 14th time in our region. The event will be held in 8 cities of the Malopolska Region (Kraków, Tarnów, Nowy Sącz, Niepołomice, Oświęcim, Skawina, Chrzanów and Limanowa) to show the wide scientific heritage, with access not being a barrier to the participation of the residents of various parts of the region as well as the whole country. Events will be organized in approx. 50 locations in ca. 30 partner institutions (both those included in the project consortium and other partners involved in the organization of the ERN program in all cities). Researchers from participating institutions prepared approx. 1,500 different activities, including e.g. interactive workshops, demos and experiments, meetings with researchers etc. The preparation of such a diverse programme will involve approx. 1,500 people every year: scientists, R&D employees from companies and students, as well as 60 science clubs. ERN 2020 will be organized under the slogan "How do researchers change our world?" Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of scientists in the fight against various environmental threats, as well as against air pollution (including smog and climate changes) - they will share their discoveries with the ERN participants that aim to save our planet. An important distinction of the ERN among other events is that we focus on interactivity. During the RN, the researchers present their work combining learning with entertainment (edutainment), to make children and young people as passionate about science as possible. But the participants themselves will feel like real researchers performing unusual experiments under the watchful eye of their mentors. The project has European dimension – due to its broad and diversified awareness campaign, we estimate that 4 million people will be made aware of the project and its objectives. Duration of the project: 1.05.-31.12.2020

Scale of the event is huge to show the wide scientific heritage and achieve project's goals: 8 cities of the Malopolska Region (Krakow, Tarnow, Nowy Sacz, Niepolomice, Oswiecim, Skawina, Chrzanow and Limanowa), approx. 60 locations in ca. 35 partner institutions (both those included in the project consortium and other partners involved in the ERN in Malopolska), approx. 1,800 different activities (including e.g. interactive workshops, demos and experiments, face to face meetings with researchers, science shows etc.) prepared by over 2,000 researchers, R&D employees and students in cooperation with 80 science clubs. ERN 2021 will be organized under the slogan "Researchers are changing our world". Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of researchers in the fight against various environmental threats, as well as against air pollution (incl. smog and climate changes) - they will share their discoveries with the ERN participants that aim to save our planet (incl. activities related to European Green Deal). An important distinction of the ERN among other events is that we focus 100% on interactivity. During the ERN, the researchers present their work combining learning with entertainment (edutainment), to make children and young people as passionate about science as possible. But the participants themselves will feel like real researchers performing unusual experiments under the watchful eye of their mentors. The project has European dimension: due to its broad and diversified awareness campaign, we estimate that 4.5 million people will be made aware of the project and its objectives. Duration of the project: 1.04.-30.11.2021.
The project covers two editions of the European Researchers’ Night (ERN) in Małopolska in 2018 and 2019, respectively for the 12th and 13th time in our region. The event will be held in 7 cities of the Małopolska Region (Kraków, Tarnów, Nowy Sącz, Niepołomice, Skawina, Andrychów, and Chrzanów) to show the wide scientific heritage, with access not being a barrier to the participation of the residents of various parts of the region. Researchers from participating institutions prepared approx. 1,000 different activities, a total of approx. 2,000 within the entire 2-year project. The preparation of such a diverse programme will involve approx. 4,000 people every year, both experienced researchers and beginners (students, representatives of scientific circles), as well as R&D employees from companies located within the region. In addition, due to the fact that 2018 is the European Year of Cultural Heritage, we have prepared even more attractions and surprises for this year's edition – there will also be the possibility to meet researchers in ... museums, libraries, and even in a historical church which the participants will certainly not be expecting. The next two editions of the ERN in Małopolska focus on showing researchers as ordinary people with extraordinary job that affect our daily lives and how in practice researchers change the world. An important distinction of the ERN among other events is that we focus 100% on interactivity. During the RN, the researchers present their work combining learning with entertainment (edutainment), to make children and young people as passionate about science as possible. But the participants themselves will feel like real researchers performing unusual experiments under the watchful eye of their mentors. Duration of the project: 1.04.2018-30.11.2019.
