HATO Lighting has asked the research group Animal health and welfare at Aeres MBO Barneveld to investigate the effects of their new CORAX DDS lamp with UV light on broiler chickens. The aim is to determine how this lighting impacts the production and welfare of the chickens. The expectation is that the UV light will improve the chickens immunity and welfare, potentially leading to reduced antibiotic use. Partners in this research include Storteboom Fresh, Aeres University of Applied Sciences Dronten, and the Poultry Expertise Centre. The trial consists of three production rounds with UV light in half of the pens.

Looking for universal values, shaping attitudes, preparing young people for their career and being a responsible and critical member of society and of EU had been the crucial elements of the background of this project. We decided for cooperation, because it was important for us to create the possibilities to meet and work together, students and teachers from different regions, countries, cultures. The project was prepared by the schools from different parts of Europe (West-the Netherlands, Central- Poland, South-Italy, North- Norway). The schools are situated in different areas too: in the cities like the schools from the Netherlands and Italy (Leeuwarden and Naples) and villages like the schools from Poland and Norway (Szydłow and Gausdal). The common factor was that all the schools have the students from rural and urban areas. It was the reason why we focus on reduction of the differences between the students, integration of the groups, promoting identity and respecting diversity. The target groups were: the students from rural (suburban) and urban areas and the teachers who work with them. They were direct participants. We invited to work in the project the students and teachers from other schools in the partners' countries (to survey, local activities, dissemination the results), parents, local stakeholders (folk groups, memebers of communities, authorities, NGO-s). They were indirect participants. This way there were more people involved in the project than numebrs of the students and teachers engaged in the direct work in the project. We organized 2 TM which were focused on organization, preparation, evaluation activities, 4 international activities (the topics were: comparison the life in rural and urban areas, dialect - the element of the culture, respect for tradition and value of diversity in Europe, promoting the activities for young people) and local activities between the international meetings. The results and the effects of the project are: -better knowledge about other countries and situation of young people from rural (suburban) and urban areas, bigger participation of young people in local life, - respect for the mother's languages and diversity of people in own country and EU - better skills of IT, making films, videos, language, team work of the participants - better knowledge about traditional cousine - better cooperation between schools and the local stakeholders. The products which we prepared during the project time and which will be used after it are: - e-cook-book - website - films about activities, PP presentations prepared by the students - materials about language for the teachers The products are published on websites of the schools, project website, Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, all are free copy rigths. Some of them we sent to the schools in the region, present during the exibtions, conferences for the teachers and we will continue to share our knowlege, experience we got from the Erasmus project with others to promote European cooperation of schools, and exchange of good practices.
