    The Ecuadorian tertiary educators Transformation And Learning EnhaNcemenT (E TALENT) project focuses on transforming educators from the fields of education, social sciences, management, business and law into teachers in the services sector within Ecuador's higher education system according to the national needs. It aims to enhance teaching methodologies and skills development, particularly in digital technologies, while ensuring equitable access and inclusion. The project will establish and upgrade centers at partner HEIs to develop and update professional development programs (PDPs), aligning them with international standards. These PDPs are tailored specifically for educators transitioning to the services sector, with guidelines for preparing for international certification and accreditation.A key component is the assistance provided to about 400 educators in preparing for capacity building, individual professional registration in digital mode, including portfolio building and advice for further development in teaching and interpersonal competencies. Additionally, 100 experts will be trained to form a Monitoring Committee for peer evaluation.ETALENT also involves formulating national recommendations to transform educators´ skills and competences ensuring diagnostic of lacking skills, capacity building and further certification to meet the national market needs. The project emphasizes the social recognition of high-quality educators, aiming to shift the focus towards upskilling and recognizing educators for their teaching skills and contributions to the services sector, alongside traditional metrics like scientific achievements and professional experience.Ultimately, the project seeks to implement a national system for evaluating teaching practice and pedagogical competence in higher education, aligned with the international standards, serving as a model for the region and pioneering a new paradigm in educator transformation, adaptation and recognition.
