Abstract

Copia de cédula real a don Diego de las Mariñas, gobernador del reino de Galicia, en referencia a una memoria (no se incluye, ni listado de nombres) de 14 irlandeses de la gente del señor de Biraven, a quien el marqués de Caracena [sic] señaló en La Coruña entretenimientos varios y que ahora desean volverse a su tierra. En la cédula, el rey ordena al gobernador les de dos meses de sueldo a cada uno para que se vayan con la brevedad que fuese posible. También hace referencia a un memorial de 18 mujeres irlandesas que tienen entretenimiento en Galicia (no se incluye, ni listado de nombres) y se les ha ordenado que pasen a su tierra, para lo que Felipe III ordena a don Diego que se les socorra con lo que se pudiere. Aparte de estas mujeres, hay otra, Elena Driscol, que perdió hacienda en Irlanda y se halla sin ningún entretenimiento, y Felipe III ordena que se la entretenga por allá (Galicia) como a otras de su calidad que hasta que vaya a Irlanda.
