Abstract

Consulta del Consejo de Estado a Felipe IV sobre el memorial remitido por fray Ricardo de la Peña, de la Orden de Santo Domingo, Procurador General de la Provincia de Irlanda, en el que refiere que la orden tiene este año a ocho candidatos preparados para ir a la Misión de Irlanda, pero que como no hay para proveerlos de lo necesario para el viaje, nombra sólo a tres. Son: el Padre fray Vicente de Santa María (En San Pablo de Valladolid), el Padre fray Tomás de Burgo (en Nuestra Señora de Atocha) y el Padre fray Tomás Bernardino (en San Pablo de Burgos), para los que se pide sin dilación el viático acostumbrado, pues por la que hubo el año pasado algunos de los religiosos que iban a dicha Misión fueron presos por herejes ingleses pasando por Inglaterra. Al Consejo parece justo dar la limosna ordinaria por vía y mano del Patriarca. Respuesta del rey: "Así lo he mandado".
