Abstract

Consulta del Consejo de Estado a Felipe IV sobre el memorial remitido por el Maestro fray Nicolás Linceo, Provincial de la Orden de Santo Domingo en Irlanda, en el que refiere que hace cuatro años se fue a Roma, al capítulo general de su orden que allí se celebró, habiéndose perdido en este tiempo buena parte de la obra que dejó hecha en Irlanda por culpa del actual virrey inglés, que ha movido tal persecución contra la fe en Irlanda que se han destruido ornamentos, cálices y libros de los dominicos irlandeses, además de serles confiscadas sus casas y conventos. Suplica algún favor con que pueda volver a Irlanda para restaurar las ruinas de su Provincia, y con qué llevar allá algunos cálices y ornamentos. El Consejo propone darle 100 ducados por una vez librados en parte que se puedan cobrar. Respuesta del rey: "Está bien"
