Abstract

Consulta del Consejo de Estado a Felipe IV sobre el memorial remitido por don Antonio Odriscol, sacerdote irlandés, en el que refiere que, por los servicios de don Thadeo Odriscol, su padre, que dio acogida, junto a los hermanos del conde de Castelhaben, a la armada de don Juan del Águila, vino a perder sus tierras y hacienda, así como los privilegios de naturaleza de su tierra. Antonio Odriscol suplica se le recompense con dárselos en estos reinos para tener renta eclesiástica, en atención a que sólo él va por la Iglesia, al contrario que los demás suplicantes de naturaleza, a los que ya se ha concedido, como el conde de Biraben, don Daniel Odriscol, don Terencio Suyni y otros, y a que ha vivido en España 24 de los 28 años que tiene. Al Consejo parece que es de mala consecuencia el dar estas naturalezas en España a extranjeros y que si se hace con este suplicante se sienta precedente para otros casos. En atención a la calidad de Odriscol, sus estudios y los servicios de su familia, propone darle pensión eclesiástica de hasta 200 ducados a cumplimiento de la que tuviere si tiene alguna. Respuesta del rey: "Así lo he mandado en Italia".
