Database with measurements of reflectance and transmittance of glazing systems and materials for energy efficiency evaluation in building

Abstract

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] The measurements were obtained using a goniophotometer. A Xe lamp was used as the light source. A Köhler system located in the beam path allows for the regulation of both the intensity and the size of the light spot on the sample. The samples were positioned in the required geometries using a robotic arm located at the center of the system. This is ring-shaped and enables two spectroradiometers (VIS and NIR) to rotate around the sample at the necessary collection angles. The incident beam is not obstructed by the spectroradiometers due to the periscopic arrangement of the equipment, which allows for measurements in retroreflection.

This database contains data of reflectance and transmittance measurements of glazing systems and materials. The evaluted spectral ranges are [380 nm - 780 nm] and [900 nm -2500 nm]. In the case of transparent glazing samples, the reflectance and transmittance coeffcients are given for different angles of incidence (0º - 70º), whereas for diffuse glazing samples the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) and the bidirectional transmitted distribution function (BTDF) are the relevant quantities given in the database.

This database is part of the project TED2021-129661B-C21, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union "NextGenerationEU"/PRT
