The dates coming from each of the 3 sectors of fields (Cerro Topaín, Topaín 2 [Lower Topaín], and Paniri) have been grouped as part of 3 different events (the cultivation of each sector considered as a different event). Despite our preliminary hypotheses, no prior assumptions were made about the relative chronological sequence of the three events, since this was one of the main questions to be addressed. The study period was established between 800-1600 AD in order to rule out the existing evidence of historical use of some of these sectors.
The model has been processed in Chronomodel 2.0 (Vibet et al., 2016; Lanos and Dufresne, 2019). Since this software has not yet incorporated the new SHCal20 curve, the model was processed with the SHCal 13 curve. In the attached table, individual calibrations with SHCal 20 are also shown. The difference between them is extremely minor (average: 3 years, median: 2 years).
The Bayesian model presented in the paper has been calculated combining 20 radiocarbon dates.
