Curated phage lysins collection including identifiers, amino acid sequences, functional domain predictions, architectures and physicochemical properties calculations

Abstract

Two comma-separated values (CSV) files named 'lysins_rf.csv' and 'lysins_pf.csv', the first one containing the full list of lysin entries (with GenBank/RefSeq sequence identifiers, amino acid sequences, bacterial hosts data, architectural information and sequence-based physicochemical calculations) and the second one comprising the domain sequence predictions performed on the aforementioned lysins according to PfamScan (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/Tools/pfa/pfamscan/)

Collection of phage lysin sequences retrieved from previously published genomic data; collected, curated, analysed and provided as part of the work "Sequence-function relationships in phage-encoded bacterial cell wall lytic enzymes and their implications for phage-derived products design", published in Journal of Virology (2021), doi: 10.1128/JVI.00321-21.
