Replication package of the manuscript "Mixed-methods research approach towards an Angular-Specific Code Smells Catalog"

Abstract

Replication package Code smells present a significant challenge in software development projects, often contributing to the accumulation of technical debt. This study investigates the issue of specific code smells within the context of Angular, a widely adopted web development framework. By employing a combination of research methods—including an initial review of relevant documentation, a survey targeting industry professionals, and an analysis of several projects using a state-of-the-art code smell detection tool—the findings reveal the absence of a standardized reference catalog for these issues. Based on the results, the study concludes that there is substantial room for further research to establish a comprehensive framework or catalog for Angular-specific code smells. This is the material accompanying the manuscript submitted to () as replication package. It covers the three phases of the study: a multivocal literature review, a developer survey and a mining study over public Angular repositories. It contains data and scripts.
