
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterized by persistent airway inflammation and progressive airflow limitation. Inflammatory biomarkers may help assess disease activity, exacerbation risk, and prognosis. The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical significance of inflammatory biomarkers in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The review showed that C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, fibrinogen, and blood eosinophils are associated with disease severity and exacerbation frequency. Biomarker-based evaluation may support individualized treatment and risk stratification.
