Permafrost thaw redistributes soil carbon age and shortens transit times across Arctic tundra soils

Abstract

This repository contains the complete modeling workflow used to quantify depth-resolved SOC age, transit time, and radiocarbon dynamics under Control (V1) and deep-snow (+Snow; V2) conditions in Arctic tundra soils. Included files cover model structure, carbon inputs and transfer processes, Bayesian calibration (optimization and MCMC), age and transit-time calculations, and post-processing scripts for diagnostics, figures, and tables. Together, they enable full reproducibility from radiocarbon observations to calibrated model outputs and steady-state carbon stock projections under persistent snow-induced thaw.
