A database of soil thermal conductivity incorporating salts effects

Abstract

Under the dual pressures of climate change and improper fertilization, soil salinization has become increasingly severe and has exerted adverse impacts on agricultural production. Solutes modify soil thermal properties by influencing the soil liquid phase, the contact area between soil particles, and soil structure. Increasing the concentration of soil solution generally leads to a decreasing trend in soil thermal conductivity, although this pattern may vary depending on the specific conditions of the soil solution. Due to the complexity of measurement procedures, existing studies have not yet provided systematic measurements or summarized patterns regarding the effects of multiple solute types and wide concentration ranges on soil thermal conductivity. Therefore, this study retrieved relevant literature from the Web of Science and CNKI databases and extracted the corresponding data to construct a soil thermal conductivity database under solute influence, with the aim of providing data support for subsequent salinized soil management.
