The LAMASUS NUTS-definition geometries is a dataset containing geographic information derived from the official EU NUTS 2016 (Nomenclature of territorial units for statistics) GISCO statistical unit dataset. This dataset consolidates the NUTS levels: NUTS 0: countries,NUTS 1: major socio-economic regions, NUTS 2: basic regions for the application of regional policies, NUTS 3: small regions for specific diagnoses Alongside the official NUTS regions, supplementary regions, documented in the accompanying file "additional_nuts_labels.xlsx" have been added to the dataset.The LAMASUS NUTS geometries are represented within the dataset by means of multipart polygons, polylines, and point topologies.
