Abstract

En el complejo de páramos Los Nevados, ubicado en la cordillera central de los Andes Colombianos, en jurisdicción de los departamentos de Caldas, Risaralda y Tolima, en las vertientes oriental y occidental, se llevaron a cabo muestreos para el registro de información en campo de cinco grupos biológicos: plantas, aves, mamíferos, anfibios y edafofauna epigea (coleópteros y arañas). Esto con el fin de aportar información biológica fundamental para la identificación de la franja de transición Páramo-Bosque, como insumo para la delimitación de los páramos en Colombia a través del estudio de la diversidad biológica y su distribución. En un gradiente de elevación entre 3414 y 4026 m, se documentaron 13750 registros de datos con información biológica, 361 para 6 especies de anfibios, 3435 registros de artrópodos de 22 ordenes y 27 familias, 2356 registros para 100 especies de aves, 177 para 20 especies de mamíferos y 7421 para 326 especies y morfoespecies de plantas.
