Data and code for "US oil and gas system emissions from nearly one million aerial site measurements"

Abstract

This repository includes data and replication code required to reproduce all key results for Sherwin et al. 2023, US oil and gas system emissions from one million aerial site measurements. Includes the Regional Oil and gas Aerial Methane Synthesis (ROAMS) model, introduced in this paper. In some instances, we could not secure permission to reproduce underlying microdata required to produce inputs for the ROAMS model, e.g. well-level production data needed to summarize regional productivity characteristics. In those cases, which we denote in the paper and in this repository, we reproduce code that a user with access to these microdata could use to reproduce our full results. See ReadMe.md for additional details regarding the contents of the repository.
