(Fig. 174) Mines are at least partly linear, but are so contorted that they generally appear as blotches. They are formed along the leaf margin and are fairly uniformly brown, sometimes with narrow whitish edging in some places. Puparium. Whitish; formed within the leaf, on the lower surface. Distribution. USA: ID, *ME, *OH.
