CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Woodley (2001: 166)]. FAMILY: STRATIOMYIDAE. [Fachina] Wiedemann, 1828: xxix. CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Tachina Meigen, 1803. FAMILY: TACHINIDAE. REMARKS: This misspelling was corrected in the errata in Wiedemann (1828: 604).
