Real-Time Sound and Motion Feedback for Violin Bow Technique Learning: A controlled, Randomized Trial.

Abstract

INFORMATION: This folder contains all the data from a study in process of publication in Frontiers in Psychology called 'Real-Time Sound and Motion Feedback for Violin Bow Technique Learning: A Controlled, Randomized Trial.' by Angel David Blanco, Simone Tassani, and Rafael Ramirez. FILES and FOLDERS: files: participants_raw_Sound_Motion.mat % This file contains the raw data from all the participants except the .wav files. spss_script.m % This script creates from 'participants_raw_Sound_Motion.mat' the arrays with the averaged analysis per Group and Condition which was used for the SPSS Analysis of the experiment. participant.m % Class of participants (explained below) participant_results % Class with the results for each participant (explained below) avg_bowSkew.m avg_dynStab.m avg_pitchStab.m % each one of these files is used by spss_script.m to average the descriptors for each condition and participant Kinematic_Analysis.sav % SPSS file with the results from the descriptor bow Skewness for each group and condition Kinematic_Analysis_Output.spv % SPSS Output file with the statistical results from the univariate 3x5 mixed-design ANOVA for the bow skewness variable and the simple main effect analysis. SoundQuality_Analysis.sav % SPSS file with the results from the descriptors dynamic instability and pitch instability for each group and condition SoundQuality_Analysis_Output.spv % SPSS Output file with the statistical results from the multivariate 3x5 mixed-design ANOVA for the dynamic instability and pitch instability variables and their simple main effect analysis. Folder Spss_stats. Inside this folder, we have different scripts such as create_spss_vectors_Age.m or create_spss_vectors_bowSkew.m which return the arrays needed for the SPSS analysis. All the participants in those arrays are always in the same order and can be identified through the ID.
