Desbordamientos, transformaciones y sujetos colectivos / Analysis of Contemporary Networked Movements from a Communicational and Freirean Perspective. Overflows, Transformations and Collective Subjects

Abstract

EN: From the Arab Spring (2011) to the # YoSoy132 (Mexico) movement, the Passe Livre (Brazil) or the 15-M movement in Spain, the network social movements that emerge in this period on the world scene bring into play new ways of conceiving the political, the technological and the communicative that overflow the pre-existing frameworks. We propose a reflection on these contemporary citizen practices from the contributions of Paulo Freire to the communicational field. Taking as starting point the original approaches of the Brazilian educator to the field of social theory and philosophy, we think that it is possible to re-read these new transformative practices as a way to recreate some nuclear aspects of the so-called "liberation communicology". Among others aspects, the fertile connection between communication and social transformation. At the same time, the proposed Freirian perspective serves as a critical instance to unveil some of the ambivalences and contradictions of the movementsunder study.
