This study aimed to examine the effect of leadership orientations on life satisfaction among wheelchair basketball players. The study sample consisted of a total of 137 professional male basketball players competing in the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) Wheelchair Basketball 1st and 2nd Leagues. Demographic data were collected using a Personal Information Form developed by the researcher. The Multifactor Leadership Orientations Scale was administered to assess athletes’ leadership orientations, while the Life Satisfaction Scale was used to measure their levels of life satisfaction.Prior to the analyses, assumptions of normality and homogeneity of variance were tested. Independent Samples t-tests were employed for pairwise comparisons, and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used for multiple group comparisons. To determine the effect of leadership orientations on life satisfaction, hierarchical regression analysis was conducted. The results revealed statistically significant differences in athletes’ leadership orientations and life satisfaction levels according to variables such as age, years of sports experience, and type of disability.Findings from the regression analysis indicated that leadership level was a significant predictor of life satisfaction (F = 54.284, p < .001). Leadership level accounted for approximately 28% of the total variance in life satisfaction. Accordingly, a one-unit increase in leadership score was associated with a 0.801-unit increase in life satisfaction score. In conclusion, the results suggest that leadership orientations among wheelchair basketball players are not limited to athletic performance but also represent an important psychosocial factor that significantly enhances individuals’ life satisfaction.
