
Diplomacy relies heavily on language as a strategic tool. Every negotiation, agreement, or official statementis carefully crafted to persuade, mitigate conflict, and maintain mutual respect between states. This study analyzes diplomaticdiscourse from a linguistic perspective, with particular attention to indirectness, politeness strategies, ambiguity,and intercultural sensitivity. Using a qualitative approach, the research examines authentic diplomatic texts and identifiespractical implications for university-level ESL/EFL education.
